The policy making body of the Diocese of Neyyattinkara for Social Service Ministry. They meet in short periods of three months and evaluate NIDS and its activities.
The office staffs are professionals who are recruted through several tests to be qualified. NIDS gives regular trainings to keep their capacity up to date.
This is a forum of the six elected commission members, a priest representative (co-ordinator), a sister representative (joint co-ordinator) and NIDS animator as secretary.
NIDS has its own banking system called Credit Union. Credit Union is a co-orporative movement which enhances economic stability among poor people.
In each region we have a special team to look after the Credit Union activities.
He is in charge of documenting and disseminating the development experiences of NIDS to keep the organization sound and relevent and to improve future interventions.
Each of the 84 NIDS units has a promoter who looks after the well-functioning of the Self Help Groups (SHG). There are collection agents who support the promoters.
Each region has a general body which consists of elected commission representatives from the units of that region. They assemble once in three month regularly to evaluate the programmes.
This is a forum which manages all the activities in a particular NIDS unit. The parish priest as president, a secretary, a tresurer and 6 commission members form a unit executive.
This is the grassroot level people's organization of NIDS. A Self Help Group is a neighbourhood community which consits of 20 families and they help each other to improve their lively hood. Irrespective of cast, creed and religion, people take part in Self Help Group meetings.
NIDS has 3560 Self Help Groups in its operational area.
