'Job diversification and justice for integral development'
Scholarship for Higher Studies
  To promote higher studies and professional courses scholarships are given to several students from poor families. Classes are conducted in all 7 regions in connection with this. Detail of professional courses like Teachers Training Course, Ploytechnic and its admission procedures are discussed in these classes.
    The commission is championing the cause of the workers. Efforts are made to organize the workers in unorganized sectors. Classes and workshops are conducted to make the workers aware of their rights and responsibilities as citizens. Many programes are conducted for the youth to make them aware of the ever expanding employment opportunities and the need to capacitate them to cope with the changing global demands. Serious attempts are made to make the people conscious of the dignity of labour and the need for job diversification. A few legal literacy programmes are also conducted and timely legal assistance is extended to the needy.
Public Service Commission (PSC) Coaching Classes
  NIDS takes serious challenge to improve the skills and capacities of the people in the backward communities and the rural youth in general and to enhance their competency in the job market. With this view, special coaching programmes are conducted. Many youth attend the classes and serveral of them can secure government jobs (which provide secure income) every year.

Career Guidance
  Selection of an appropriate career has become a big problem for many. NIDS conducts career guidance programmes for students. Workshops along with individual counseling are organized.

Employment Registration
  The commission pays special attention to promote self employment in villages. Training programmes are conducted to improve the skills and capacities and enable the unemployed to take up diverse income generation programmes.

Kerala   Labour   Movement   &   Christian   Workers Movement
  NIDS formed several units of Kerala Labour Movement (KLM) and Christian Workers Movement (CWM) in the Operational area. One day seminars are conducted in connection with this.

Workers' Gathering
  To attain government welfare schemes and pensions, NIDS organizes laborers and facilitate them to register their names in the welfare board. 2000 laborers were registered in this manner. Many awareness classes are conducted to the members. Gatherings of workers are organized. In the gatherings they share their success stories and also constrains. They also discusse the various government schemes which can be utilized.

Legal Leteracy Programme
  As a part of promoting legal literacy, seminars are conducted on various topics like Fundamental Rights, Civil and Criminal Law, Police Act, Consumer Protection Act, Marriage Act, Family Court, Contract Act etc.

Legal Aid Cell
  The ordinary people are ignorant about the legal procedures and find it difficult to afford the financial burden involved. NIDS is on the one hand striving to extend legal assistance through the legal aid cells to prevent exploitation and on the other hand facilitating the reconciliation of individuals and families before engaging in lengthy and costly legal procedures. NIDS has formed one legal aid cell in each of the 7 regions. Besides reconciling several parties, cases are taken up by the legal aid cells.

organizing Reed Workers
  More than 10,000 of the inhabitants in the operational are reed workers. NIDS could initiate a process to organize them. Meetings and workshops are conducted to capacitate them.
